Dec. 12, 2008 – The Joe Satriani/Coldplay lawsuit could be one of the biggest plagiarism cases in music history. Satriani is suing Coldplay for allegedly stealing "substantial original portions" of his song ‘If I Could Fly’ on the title track of the album ‘Viva La Vida.’
Dec. 12, 2008 – The more we hear about the Led Zeppelin reunion the more it sounds like a journey Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham may regret. Jeff Beck has now gone on record to clarify that a Zeppelin reunion without Robert Plant as lead vocalist would be a huge mistake.

Last year I endured a pretentious Alicia Keys singing with a very dead Frank Sinatra and Beyonce, who I barely consider an actual musician, trying to make the Tina Turner tribute all about her. 
Dec. 4, 2008 – Nominations for the 5th Annual Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards were released today. Warren Hill and Thirsty Howell lead nominations with three each. 
Dec. 4, 2008 – Lil Wayne is feeling like he owns the town! The rapper was nominated for 8 Grammy’s last night including album of the year and best rap album for "Tha Carter III," best rap song for "Lollipop" and best rap/sung collaboration for "Got Money" featuring T-Pain. Coldplay got seven nominations and Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kane West each had six.

John Beaudin is a 29 year veteran in Broadcasting and has been a music journalist for the past 15 years. He has worked in most of the major radio formats in the industry, Rock, Adult Contemporary, New Age, Smooth Jazz and Gold. Shannon Edwards is Rock History Book's Editor and when we can twist her arm she's also our interview transcriber. Growing up in Penticton, B.C. Shannon soaked in the hot Okanagan sun listening to artists such as Toto,Chicago, the Eagles, Abba and the Beach Boys. Shannon and John have two children, Danica who is ten and Chase who is five years old. Some of Shannon's goals include learning higher levels of sign language, behavioral intervention for Danica who is Autistic and becoming more spiritual but mostly being scarce when John needs an interview transcribed. |
