A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. More

It’s a Good Thing He Fell on His Head! Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Falls Off Stage
August 8, 2009 – Looks like Steven Tyler Is ok after falling off the stage in South Dakota on Aug. 5th. In fact Aerosmith’s lead singer even joked to everyone within ear-shot while he was loaded in the helicopter on the way to the hospital. (Update Aug. 11/09 – Tyler broke his shoulder and the band is off the road for at least two months)

It all started when the sound system quit during “Love in an Elevator,” Tyler, always the class clown, decided to entertain the crowd with some wild dancing while everything got fixed up. After swaying and grinding on microphone stands a few too many times the poor guy fell off stage. Lance Yellow Robe was about 8 feet from the stage when Tyler fell off, he said, "You could kind of see it coming because he was dancing all over the stage.” According to many sources most fans were ok when guitarist Joe Perry told the crowd the concert would not go on. Yellow Robe said, "I could care less about the concert being cancelled. I hope he's OK.”

Tyler was taken to Rapid City Regional Hospital and though he is not currently listed on patient list, it does not mean he is still not in doctor’s care. Celebrities never get checked in anywhere under their real or stage names. Most sources are saying the singer suffered head, neck and shoulder injuries but he is ok.

It’s also important to note that Tyler is 61 and according to all account has surpassed his nine lives with a vengeance. All members of Aerosmith have been in and out of rehab through the years and are still going strong. – by John Beaudin

Aerosmith's Brad Whitford Watches “Toys in the Attic” from the Sidelines
June 10, 2009 – The latest Aerosmith tour with ZZ Top is a huge deal for long time fans. Lead guitarist Joe Perry just announced that the band would perform their legendary album “Toys in the Attic” in it’s entirety during the stints. It’s something that Brad Whitford was looking forward to, until he fell ill. The long-time guitarist of the group is recovering from an undisclosed illness and will miss the first half of the tour.

Bobby Schneck, who has performed with Green Day, Weezer and Slash will be filling in.

The older classic rock bands have fallen victim to loads of injuries, ask Eddie Van Halen about his hip. Aerosmith has certainly had a higher quota of injuries, starting with Joe Perry’s knee surgery last year, then lead singer Steven Tyler had throat and foot surgery, then there were the rehab rumors.

The tour kicks off tonight at the Verizon Wireless Ampitheater in St. Louis, Missouri. – by John Beaudin

Aerosmith Returns to Early Heavy Sound on New Wal-Mart Exclusive Record
May 20, 2009 – Joe Perry is excited. The Aerosmith lead guitarist is a huge fan of ZZ Top and their summer tour together is bound to feature a few interesting jams on stage. "They floor me every time. We're honored to be paired with them,” say Perry.

The tour, which starts June 21 in Bristow, VA and runs until Sept. 16th in Auburn Hills, MI, has Perry going through his 600 plus guitars trying to pick just a handful for the gigs.

"It's an embarrassing dilemma to have," he says. "My collection is certainly nice, but it does make it tough when you have to choose only a few of them."

Perry did give some details on the direction of the new Aerosmith album, "We've got some really rocking songs written. It's going to be out fiercest record since back in the day. We made some good headway with (producer) Brendan O'Brien, but all these health issues came up - I had knee surgery, Steven (Tyler) got pneumonia. But we've got some really rocking songs written, and I'm excited. It's going to be out fiercest record since back in the day."

Like AC/DC’s “Black Ice” and the Eagles’ “Long Road Out of Eden,” the new Aerosmith album will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores.

Also another treat for Aerosmith fans, Perry added that the band will play one of their albums in it’s entirety on the tour, “We’re going to pick an album and do it from front to back. Even though we do bits and pieces from all the albums, to me, there’s kind of a vibe that happens when you hear an album from beginning to end.”

So far the band has not told anyone what that album will be but most believe it will be the legendary “Toys in the Attic.” – by John Beaudin

Aerosmith Goes Gambling With Your Money
May 13, 2009 – It’s a good thing I don’t have a gambling problem. Aerosmith fans with a penchant for lotteries may soon need an intervention. The band has struck up a partnership with GTech, a company famous for creating lottery games.

Their plan is to invent scratch-off cards with Aerosmith themes, most notably the tune “Dream On.” Fans and gamblers alike will have a chance to win backstage passes, front-row seats and some cash.

This summer Rhode Island and New Hampshire will launch Aerosmith-themed lotteries.

"Whether you're 70 or 20, you know a handful of Aerosmith songs and have a connection to the band," said Ross Dalton, GTECH senior VP. "You could probably count on one hand the number of bands that would be both palatable in government-sponsored gaming and recognizable to a broad demographic. That's why we got very excited about Aerosmith." – by John Beaudin

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler to Headline Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp     Bookmark and Share
March 11, 2009 – The organizers of Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp just brough it up a notch. Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith will headline a special dream-team at the camp.

Could this get any better? So far the line-up includes, Alan White (Yes), Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver), Bruce Kulick (Kiss), Elliot Easton (The Cars), legend Todd Rundgren and one of the best guitarists on the planet, Steve Lukather (Toto).

With big, funny personalities like Tyler, Lukather and Rundgren, the camp scheduled for April 29 to May 3 in Hollywood, should be as crazy as it is educational.

Tyler has promised to donate loads of autographed memorabilia for the charity MusiCares. Whiskey A Go Go on the Sunset Strip will host the charity as the closing event of Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp. – by John Beaudin

Don’t Burn Your Aerosmith CD’s, Joe Perry Endorses John McCain
Nov. 3, 2008 – Can you take Aerosmith being Republican? Their lead guitarist is. Joe Perry who is a long time Republican says, “We pretty much stay out of it, but seeing so many people come out for Obama, I just felt like ‘What the hell, I might as well raise my hand for this side.’” After seeing both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rudy Giuliani give glowing support to McCain Perry was convinced it was time to speak.

Though much of the young vote is expected to lean towards Barack Obama tomorrow, Perry has no problem supporting a man who is 72 years old, “My mother’s in her 80s and she does aerobics. My manager’s 70 and he’s right there. That doesn’t bother me.”  The guitarist is expecting a miracle on Tuesday considering McCain is down up to 10 points in some poles, “I’m an optimist. It ain’t over till its over,” he said. “I think that he’s got a chance.”

The McCain camps are happy to have Perry in the fold. McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said “Joe Perry is an icon of rock-and-roll and a great American. John McCain absolutely appreciates his support.”

One Blogger was not too happy with Perry saying, “Joe Perry's probably done enough coke to kill a hippopotamus juiced-up on gamma rays. That being said, I'm disappointed in him,” while another poster, “I admire Joe speaking out and saying what he believes.” – by Shannon Edwards

Celine Dion Set to Replace Plant in Led Zeppelin
Oct. 30, 2008 – Remember how Celine Dion looked like a freakin idiot singing AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long?’ Let that haunt Steven Tyler as rumours bounced from my noggin to yours that he’s replacing Robert Plant as lead singer of Led Zeppelin. Stories of new vocalist have turned into one urban legend after another, something that Zeppelin is very used to and sure, comparing Tyler to Dion is unfair. He’s a cool dude who helped create part of Rock’ n ’Roll history with Aerosmith and she’s got the coolness of John McCain dressed up as George Bush on Halloween.

A source from Britain’s ‘The Mail on Sunday’ says, "Steve was jamming with Zep. They had a great time but Steve kept fluffing (messing up) his lines. He got quite flustered about it." Does that really mean he’s joining the band? Probably not but if he does he will tarnish his reputation in Aerosmith and certainly that of Led Zeppelin. It’s not worth it. More

Aerosmith to Finish Album in 2009
Oct 23, 2008 -   Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford says the injury line up for his band is more ESPN than MTV, "You'd think it was a football team or something," Says Whitford. It’s just a small set back according to the band that has a new album partially recorded and set to be released in 2009.  "We're sitting on a bunch of music we've already recorded for a new album," according to Whitford. He told Billboard magazine, "We haven't gone back into the studio the put the final touches on it and get it done and still don't know when we're gonna do that. Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later."

The group hasn’t had an album of all new music since 2001’s ‘Just Push Play.’ They did release the covers album ‘Honkin' on Bobo’ in 2004.

Lead guitarist Joe Perry was sidelined in March with knee reconstruction surgery and lead singer Steven Tyler had a stay at a California rehabilitation clinic during the spring and he had his own leg injury. Tyler was last seen on stage with Billy Joel in July at New York's Shea Stadium.

Whitford who is currently touring with the Experience Hendrix says the time off has been a blessing, "It's been kind of nice just to be able to have some time and spend time with the family," he says. "I don't think we've ever had this much time off. Expect the new album before next summer. – by John Beaudin

Cat Deeley of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Crushing on Steven Tyler
Cat Deeley and Steven TylerJune 11, 2008 – There is something wrong with the world when Cat Deeley of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ is single. The beautiful host with the crooked nose says she desperate to meet a man. Yeah right, like she can’t find a date? "It's a much bigger country than the UK, so slowly but surely I will work my way through them all,” says Deeley.

She adds, "My perfect catch is Steve Tyler from Aerosmith. I like a man who can tell stories, who has been to the edge. And he has been at the precipice, jumped and held on by his fingertips." I give up! – by John Beaudin

Steven Tyler’s Achy Breaky Feet
May 31, 2008 – Rehab for your feet? Well, that’s the story coming from Steven Tyler’s camp. They say it was his feet that got him in the hospital not substance abuse. The Aerosmith front man says he’s been battling with foot pain for years as a result of his crazy on stage antics, so he’s getting them fixed. Tyler released the following statement, “The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected but it would require a few surgeries over time. The 'foot repair' pain was intense, greater than I'd anticipated. The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet.” Make no mistake, AEROSMITH has no plans to stop rocking. There's a new album to record, then another tour. You believe it, right? – by John Beaudin

teven Tyler Gives Rehab a Try
May 22, 2008 – He may not have hit rock-bottom but Steven Tyler knows when he needs help. The Aerosmith rocker may have entered rehab just one week after his actress daughter Liv announced her separation. Tyler’s managements deny the rehab story but several reports say the 60 year old singer is receiving treatment for an unnamed substance abuse at Las Encinas Hospital drug rehabilitation clinic. Get well Steven! - by Kari Graham
