Chicago, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, N.W.A. and Steve Miller To Be Inducted in Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
The wait is over and the list if final. The 31st annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be Chicago, Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, N.W.A. and Steve Miller. The biggest snub this year was the absence of the progressive rock group Yes who received the second highest amount of online votes. To be fair many performers usually get nominated multiple times before actually being picked. Chic, for instance, has been nominated 11 times including this year.
Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their initial recording. Inductees are picked via member of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation (800-plus-members) and web voting.
Chicago fans will finally get to see Peter Cetera sing for the band again. Robert Lamb told Rolling Stone magazine that he would be delighted to have the boys together again. Cetera left in 1985. – by John Beaudin
