Elton John Set To Re-Issue 10 Classics on 180 Gram Vinyl Including Caribou & Honky Château #EltonJohn

When I mistakenly got rid of most of my vinyl in 1993 I still held on to a few of my old Elton LP’s including “Madman Across The Water” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” – the first two albums I ever bought as a kid. If you still have your originals they may, like mine, be falling apart or sound like crap.

Elton has just announced a set of 10 vinyl album re-issues that were all Platinum, or multi-Platinum hits. Each album was remastered by Grammy Award winning mastering engineer, Bob Ludwig.

The reissue dates are:

★ Tumbleweed Connection (30 June)

★ Honky Château (7 July)

★ Caribou (21 July)

★ Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player (21 July)

★ Rock Of The Westies (25 August)

★ The Big Picture [2LP] (25 August)

★ Blue Moves [2LP] (22 September)

★ Empty Sky (22 September)

★ One Night Only – The Greatest Hits [2LP] (20 October)

★ Sleeping With The Past (20 October)

Each album contains a download card so you can grab the album digitally.

“The Big Picture” and “One Night Only” have never been released on vinyl.

Most albums are pressed at 120-140 grams. 180gm vinyl is considered audiophile to some. The sound is cleaner thanks to the fact that it’s virgin vinyl and lets not forget all albums sound better because they are remastered.

If you want to splurge EltonJohn.com is offering the entire package for $340 USD which includes shipping and a limited edition collector’s box when you pre-order. – by John Beaudin
