Neil Diamond Announces Huge 50th Anniversary Tour for 2017

rs-171920-photo_neildiamo_300rgbThe singer promises to leave “no song unsung” on the big tour which will include him singing tunes made famous by other people, most notably The Monkees, “I’m a Believer,” which has sold more than 10 million copies.

The tour starts April 7th in Fresno and winds down August 10 & 12 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Forum. While some performers are gearing up for, what could be, final tours, Diamond is revved up saying, “People have been loyal and listening to you for years, so you just want to give them everything. Let it all wash over them, and make sure everybody has a great time.”

The 75-year-old singer-songwriter said, “We play all over the United States, North America, and then we will find other places to go.”

Just in 2016 we lost so many great artists like Glenn Frey of the Eagles, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen just to name a few and here’s Neil Diamond feeling energized. He doesn’t need the money – this is what he does. He’s a Grammy winner, in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, has sold over 125 million albums and doing his thing on stage is his sweet spot. Who could forget, ‘Hot August Night’ from this month in 1972. One of the best live albums of all time and that opening with late great drummer Dennis St. John pounding on his kit as Lee Holdridge conducted orchestra kicks in that opening crescendo moment. Truly it was a life changing experience at the Greek Theatre. Diamond has repeated that experience many times. If you’ve never seen him, it’s time!

Diamond says, “They can expect me to give everything I possibly can. I will leave no stone unturned, and no song unsung.”

There are almost 40 concerts listed and he said more could be added. – by John Beaudin (TOUR DATES BELOW)
