Olivia Newton-John’s Cancer Returns Forcing Her To Cancel Tour

The singer says cancer has spread to her lower back. The 68-year-old says, “I decided on my direction of therapies after consultation with my doctors and natural therapists and the medical team at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia,”

John had her first cancer scare in 1992 and reassured fans that she’s strong and plans to return to the stage real soon. In a statement she said, “The back pain that initially caused her to postpone the first half of her concert tour, has turned out to be breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum,”

She had her first hit in 1971 with Bob Dylan’s “If Not For You,” and has hit the top 40 at least 25 times since with #1 hits like “I Honestly Love You,””Have You Never Been Mellow,””You’re The One That I Want,” “Magic” and “Physical.”

In the U.S. alone John has multi-platinum albums including her “Greatest Hits” Vol1 and 2 plus her “Physical” album.

Of course everyone fell in love with her in 1978 when she played Sandy Olsson in “Grease.” opposite John Travolta’s Danny Zuko.

We wish her a speedy recovery. – by John Beaudin
