U2 and Patti Smith Pay Tribute to Paris Victims
Less than a month after the terrorist attacks in Paris U2 returned last night to follow through on their postponed concert with a special guest. Even though the band had denied that Eagles of Death Metal would join them on stage the rumor mill still went with it. In the end the special guest was Patti Smith who sang “Gloria” and “People Have the Power” with the Bono as a tribute to both victims of the Paris and San Bernardino, California terrorist attacks.
U2 will close out their “Innocence + Experience” Tour tonight at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris. It will be filmed for an HBO special.
Smith was in the city for the Pathway to Paris concert with Thom Yorke and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea.
