July 24 – Today In Music History

america_dan_peek_0022011 – Dan Peek of America died in his sleep of fibrinous pericarditis. He was 60. Peek was with American from 1970 to 1977.  He co-wrote and sang lead vocals on “Don’t Cross The River,” “Lonely People,” “Woman Tonight,”and “Today’s the Day.”  He became a Christian artist after leaving America.
