November 9th – Today In Music History

2000 – Scottish session drummer Andy White who played on the Beatles “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You,” died of a massive stroke in Caldwell, New Jersey. He was 85.

On November 17, 2000 he found out, after litigation, that he would not get any more than his session fee of £5 for his work in 1962. He however joined an elite group of musicians in the “Fifth Beatle” category which includes Pete Best, Stuart Sutcliffe, Billy Preston, Eric Clapton among others.
